How do I get there?

By Train

The best way to get to and from FOMO Festival is via Train!

Extra Trains will be running to get you to and from FOMO Festival at Flemington Racecourse, between 11:30am and 11:30pm, on Sunday 13 January, 2019.

Getting to the Racecourse

A 10 minute service from Southern Cross (Platform 8) to Flemington Racecourse stopping only at North Melbourne (platform 2) on route to Flemington Racecourse (Platform 1).

The first train is to depart Southern Cross at approximately 11:30am and the last service is to depart Southern Cross at approximately 4:00pm.

Any passengers wishing to travel to Flemington Racecourse after the last service are to be directed to catch tram 57 from Elizabeth St or alternatively a train to Newmarket railway station then Tram 57

During the above period service, trains that run back to Southern Cross are Express with passengers

Leaving the Racecourse

From 8:00pm – 10:00pm a 20 minute service from Flemington Racecourse (Platform 1) and stopping at North Melbourne and Southern Cross Stations on route to Flinders Street Station, (Platform 9) due to works around Southern Cross Station.

From 10:06pm – 11:30pm a 6 minute service from Flemington Racecourse using Platform 1 at North Melbourne and Southern Cross Stations on route to Flinders Street Station, (Platform 9) due to works around Southern Cross Station.

Any passengers wishing to travel to Flinders Street Station after the last service are to be directed to catch tram 57 from Epsom Road.

By Bus

No additional services will operate. All services will run to a normal weekend timetables.

Getting to and from the Racecourse

Patrons can catch Route 472 bus from Williamstown, Footscray or Moonee Ponds to Fisher Parade and then must make the short walk to the Epsom Road gate.

Patrons can also catch Route 404 bus from Footscray or Moonee Ponds to Smithfield Road and then must make the short walk to the Epsom Road gate.

By Tram

No additional services will operate. All services will run to a normal weekend timetables.

Getting to and from the Racecourse

Patrons can catch trams from Melbourne CBD from the corner of Elizabeth Street and Flinders Street via the No. 57 West Maribyrnong tram to Flemington Drive (stop 30).

Please note, low-floor trams do not run on Route 57 and it is therefore recommended passengers using a mobility aid should make alternate plans to travel to the racecourse.

By Car

There is parking available on site at Flemington Racecourse The cost is $25 per vehicle.

Entry/Exit to the event car park zone will be via Flemington Racecourse main gates on Epsom Road, which is located at 448 Epsom Road.

The designated car park will be operational between the hours of 1130am and 11:00pm on the event date.

By Rideshare or Taxi

Due to the anticipated high usage of rideshare the vehicle drop off & pick up zone (PUDO) is to be located within the racecourse at the designated

existing Rank station.

Entry/Exit to the Rideshare PUDO zone will be via Flemington Racecourse main gates on Epsom Road, which is located at 448 Epsom Road.

The designated drop off point will be operational between the hours of 11:30am and 11:00pm on the event date.

GENERAL TICKETING

Can I still buy a ticket?

Yes, you can still purchase a ticket to FOMO Melbourne. Head to bit.ly/FOMOMEL19 for the last remaining tickets.

Will tickets be available at the gate on the day?

Yes, tickets will be available at the gate on the day up until 8pm unless sold out prior.

Do I have to print out my ticket?

No, tickets can be scanned from your phone.

What happens if I lose my ticket?

Hard copy tickets cannot be replaced if lost, so please treat them like cash.

Tickets purchased online via Eventbrite or Ticketbooth will be delivered in the form of a bar-coded print-at-home PDF ticket; or a bar-coded Passbook e-ticket (electronic ticket on mobile device).

Does the name on my ticket have to match my ID?

YES - the name on your FOMO ticket must match your photo ID to gain entry to the festival.

FOMO will continue to support music charity Heaps Decent alongside a new partnership with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, donating one dollar for every online ticket sold to their powerful causes. Heaps Decent have worked with young people across Australia’s metropolitan, regional and remote areas, providing quality music and art workshops to build positive stories, connections and community engagement through music production, recording and multimedia visual arts. The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre works tirelessly to provide aid and advocacy for refugees and people seeking asylum, maximising their wellbeing through food, education, healthcare, housing and employment support. As an independent human rights organisation, they also provide legal aid and advocate for social change.

ENTRY CONDITIONS

AGE & IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

FOMO 19 Melbourne  is a 16+ event.

All patrons must present valid photo ID that matches the name on their ticket to enter FOMO festival Melbourne.

Accepted ID for 18+ patrons attending FOMO festival in Melbourne will be as follows:
- Valid Australian photo Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit;
- Valid Passport;
- Valid KEYPASS / DIGITAL PASS Photo ID Card or equivalent (*see below)
- Valid School ID card
Valid University ID card

Expired ID cannot be accepted

Accepted ID for U18 patrons attending FOMO festival in Melbourne will be as follows:
- School or University ID card.

Anyone who fails to present an Accepted ID upon entry will not be allowed into FOMO Festival. No refunds will be processed for anyone who is denied entry because they did not bring Accepted ID.

Conditions of Entry and Ticketing Terms & Conditions apply to everyone attending FOMO Festival Melbourne. The Promoter reserves the right to evict any persons engaging in illegal activities.

* Proof of Age Card issued by an interstate government authority

AT THE FESTIVAL

If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol you will be refused entry.

Forget about trying to fence jump or sneak into the festival – the fence is patrolled by dedicated security guards and police will be on site to deal with any offenders.

Fence jumping is a trespass offence and offenders will be charged and issued a fine, notice to appear in court or arrested and processed at the Police watch house.

Trespass charges may result in a criminal conviction which will be on your record for life, so don’t risk it.

Will I be searched?

All bags will be searched. A personal safety and security search is a condition of entry. Security wanding may occur at FOMO. Prohibited items can be deposited at the cloakroom. Illegal items will be confiscated.

Any person not compliant will be refused entry or removed from the event without refund.

Are there ATMs on site?

Yes, there will be ATMs on site and paypass facilities at bars, however we suggest bringing cash as a backup.

What size bag can I bring?

Patron safety measures implemented nationally for major events mean that no bags/ backpacks larger than A4 will be allowed into the festival. You will be permitted to bring bags A4 or smaller only into the festival. All bags will be searched upon entry.

Is there a cloakroom?

Yes, there will be an external, paid cloak room service available outside the festival entry. All items will be searched before they are checked into the cloakroom.

Please Note: If you choose to check your bag/personal items into the external cloakroom you will not be able to access them again for the duration of the festival or until you chose leave the festival, so best to leave the big bags at home - bring a small bag smaller than A4 and carry all valuables and necessary items on your person.

The cloakroom will close at 10.45pm sharp after the festival ends, please ensure you collect all your personal items before then.

Do I have to wear a wristband?

Yes, everyone at FOMO needs to wear their wristband at all times.

On entry to the festival, your ticket will be scanned and exchanged for a wristband. This wristband will act as proof of your ticket purchase, so you must wear it at all times.

Please note the wristband is not transferable, non-refundable and not replaceable – it becomes invalid if tampered or broken.

Security will be checking wristbands, if you are found without a wristband you will be removed from the festival.

Will Pass Outs be available on the day?

There are NO PASS OUTS on the day. If you choose to leave the festival at any point, your wristband will be removed and you will not be admitted back in.

There will be more than enough food, drinks, amenities and of course, music to keep you going all day and night.

When do the festival gates open?

Gates open at 12:00pm with the event finishing at 10:00pm

What happens if it rains on the day?

FOMO will go ahead in all-weather unless deemed unsafe.

Can I bring my own alcohol into the festival?

No. FOMO has licenced areas that provide great, well-stocked bars.

Can I go barefoot?

Shoe wear is necessary - thongs and sandals are fine but we highly recommend enclosed footwear as it is a long day.

Where do I report any lost or found articles?

Found: Please take any found items to the cloak room or hand into security.  

Lost: If you misplace something please check with cloak room staff on the day as things will be turned in there. Alternatively, please email hello@fomofestival.com.au and we will do our very best to help you.

Does FOMO festival Melbourne have disabled access & facilities?

Yes - FOMO is fully accessible. A map detailing locations of parking, viewing platform and disabled toilets will be available closer to the festival date.

We encourage people with special needs to please get in touch with us prior to the event so we can provide any information required including issuing carers passes for those with a companion card. Email operations@fomofestival.com.au

SAFETY & FIRST AID

Patron Safety is our number one priority at FOMO.

Will there be First Aid at the event?

There are two  First Aid posts located at the event manned by a team of paramedics and nurses, here you’ll find assistance as required as well as suntan lotion and water.

The friendly folk from Dancewize will also attend the chill out space alongside the main medical post.

If you or someone near you is feeling unwell at the festival please be proactive and alert our staff, security or the First Aid team – Patron safety and wellbeing is our number one priority at FOMO.

Can I bring my prescription medication?

FOMO is committed to maintaining the safety and wellbeing of all persons on site, and is very aware that a proportion of the festival audience have a requirement to bring prescribed medicines and or special foods onto site.

To gain entry to FOMO with special Medical requirements, approval must be granted from the event medical provider Event Medical Services prior to the event.

Will there be free water?

Yes - there are several free water stations around the festival site. See the FOMO Map for locations.

The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to people carrying any of the items listed below.

  • Illicit drugs
  • BYO alcohol
  • Glass.
  • Anything that may reasonably be considered a weapon, including potential missiles or studded belts
  • Professional photo of video equipment. Anything with a detachable lens.
  • Animals (other than registered guide dogs)
  • Flares, fireworks or sparklers
  • Lasers or laser pointers
  • Professional recording or broadcast devices without the promoter’s permission
  • Flags with poles, large flags or banners that may obstruct the view of other patrons
  • Any items that you intend (or such quantities of the item from which management can reasonably infer that you intend) to distribute, hawk, sell, offer, expose for sale or display for marketing or promotional purposes
  • Any other items as determined by Security or Management that may cause injury or public nuisance
  • Sealed drink containers
  • Chairs
  • Skateboards. scooters, rollerblades, bicycles
  • Backpacks
  • Bags larger than A4
  • Any other items deemed dangerous or potentially disruptive by FOMO in its discretion

available at the first aid tent)

What kind of cameras and recording devices can I bring with me?

No professional cameras (read: cameras with detachable lenses) are permitted without formal media accreditation.

Likewise, no audio or film recording equipment (including GoPros) can be brought into the Festival.

Can I bring a vape?

No, vaporizers / vapes are not allowed at FOMO Melbourne
